Volunteering

Volunteer Ireland have listed a number of the main reasons why people volunteer and they are as follows:

  • Give something back to your community or society
  • Gain valuable training and experience which may lead to paid employment
  • Make use of special interests and talents
  • Learn new skills and/or develop new interests
  • Meet new people with similar interests
  • Find out more about an area of work you are considering as a career
  • Have a chance to take some responsibility and make decisions
  • Be an active citizen
  • Make a difference

Volunteering opportunities

We have a number of different areas in which you can volunteer.

  • Work in our Charity Shop
  • Volunteer Helper in The Next Step
  • Volunteer with Clonakilty Resource Centre
  • Stewarding at events
  • Flag Day Collection days
  • Church gate Collections
  • Organise a fundraiser
  • Be a member of a Committee

This Gardening Group has been established for over 4 years and gives people who experienced mental health difficulties a place to go and work with their hands and produce something they can be proud of which gives them a great sense of achievement and self worth. Read more
